friends!

i hope that the title for the blog wasn’t too confusing : )

today we leave for togo, west africa! we will be going to minister to the people there, document areas for wells to be built, and ultimately make God look beautiful!

please pray for us as we are traveling and as we are staying in the villages. please also pray that we would be a constant example of God’s love and that He would would prepare the hearts of the people of togo.

i will not be in contact for 2 weeks, so please do no feel ignored if i have not responded to emails or phone calls! as much as i would love to blog daily, i will not be taking a computer (and doubt i will have internet as it is). there will be many africa blogs when i am back!

thank you all so much for the kind words and prayers, and i look forward to sharing all of the photos/videos/stories with all of you when i get home!!

so it’s pretty weird and lovely when one of your best friend’s gets engaged. haha. yep, that’s how i will start off this blog.

james has been one of my best friend’s for a while now, and i got super pumped when i found out that he and audra would be getting married and i get to take some pictures!! yay! i got even more excited when audra showed up in a headband that i wanted to steal off of her head and james was rocking suspenders. bless them. i’m a detail kinda person : )

i dragged these two lovely human beings to downtown savannah and into the woods for a grand engagement session : ) we will hopefully be heading to “charles-town” in the fall/winter for some more cool photos!

can’t wait to shoot the wedding next year in st.augustine!

mrs.lisa wrote me and asked if i would be willing to take some photos of her family while everyone was visiting at the beach that week. ummm – YES! and did i know that her family was filled with beautiful people? well i SHOULD have! nonetheless, i was still surprised : )

what a sweet family and a lovely time! so glad i got to catch up with them and see their pretty faces again!

dear faithful website looker or first-timers,

guess what?

i haven’t updated my portfolio website in half past FOREVER.

all that will be changing in a month’s time…so be on the lookout! all finals edits to the site will be made when i get back from africa on august 3rd!

website editing is big ol’ task that has been staring at me for the past couple (…or 9) months.

shoots you’ve never seen…weddings i haven’t had time to blog. yes – it will all be there.

maybe i’ll even have an africa album? lions, tigers, and scorpions – oh my!

maybe i shouldn’t have put that last part…kinda corny.

until then – keep checkin out this blog!

sheftall & lindsey’s surprise wedding!

sheftall & lindsey are…awesome. what a lovely email i received when lindsey asked if i could shoot their engagement party that would turn into a wedding!

see, apparently everyone thought the two were going overseas to get married and this engagement party would be their last time for family and friends to share with them before they did that. hooray for secrets for me to keep!!

when michaele (my amazing assistant) and i arrived to sheftall’s parent’s home in bluffton, we got a little giddy! it was right on the water, a gorgeous bride & groom, beautiful old trees, and all these little details…holla!!

it was such a beautiful ceremony! friends cried as lindsey made her way to sheftall and they became mr. and mrs.giddens : )

i so enjoyed being a part of the day and getting to hang out with such an amazing and completely laid back couple! thanks you guys, and i wish you all the best!!

(3 blog posts in one day? am i crazy? haha)

stephanie jordan is now stephanie jackson, and i can FINALLY put up her bridal photos!!!

well, it was just lovely to hang out with such a cool and beautiful bride for a bit! stephanie is kind of amazing and i’ve really enjoyed getting to photograph and get to know such a completely nice person! i also got to hang out with stephanie’s mom and sister, and they were equally as lovely : )

we headed over to the paris market (my favorite!) to do some bridal photos – they are so great to let us use their location for photos! we then headed over to one of the squares for a few photos outside.

i just shot scott & stephanie’s wedding this past weekend, and will be in dallas this weekend for their texas reception! looking forward to sharing their wedding photos!

drew & alana! | engagement

ah yes, this is the kind of couple that makes my job so much easier! drew & alana are beautiful and they also happen to have amazing personalities!

when alana was describing what she was thinking for engagement photos, i already liked her! see, drew’s family owns the sugar shack on tybee island, so they knew that we would definitely do some photos there! we also headed to a park (the ones that drew had proposed in) and to some of the old houses on tybee (and in the process made a lady super upset with us for being in her yard – whoopsy!). we also headed out to the beach as the sun was getting lower…it was windy, but definitely beautiful!

so glad that i got to hang out with these two and get to know them! as you can see, they photograph well : )

can’t wait to shoot their wedding in december!!

the palmer family

when mrs.regina told me that she was my #1 fan, i blushed (of course), then told her that she might want run that past my mother…haha.

i was so excited when she wrote to ask about getting photos of her beautiful family! i mean – no pressure added, of course…haha.

i had so much fun with the palmer parents and their beautiful daughters, grace & juliet. (also, i love those names!) we headed down to wright square in downtown savannah and walked around for a bit. despite the fact that there was still a hint of pollen in the air (and on anything it could attach to), it was a beautiful day for photos!!

i had a wonderful time with you guys!! thank you for spending some of your day with me and letting me take pictures of your pretty faces! y’all are wonderful!

so i had the lovely opportunity to take photos of the terribly handsome blankenship boys!

kaden & kellen are awesome brothers…they make me smile! their mom, reagan, wanted to get some photos before the azaleas went bad in savannah (and yes, if you don’t live here – the azaleas don’t last too long).

we headed over to forsyth park and i totally enjoyed hanging out with these boys. kaden was rocking his new haircut and kellen of course has an amazing curly fro!

we had a good time doing funny photos and all of them throwing around the football…i enjoyed spending time with you guys!!

baby colten is a one year old! tear!

colten has been such an awesome baby for every month that we have taken photos. i know i’ve explained it once (or 7 times) before, but i’ll say it just one more time! i asked jeremy & meredith if i could borrow their adorable little boy for a year of photos…i wanted to see how baby’s change from month to month, and luckily i was blessed with one of the happiest and cutest babies on the planet!

this ends the year of photos, but for those that have fallen in love with little colten…do not fear, we will have 6 month updates! haha

jeremy & meredith thought that i was just taking photos of colten, but secretly i was forcing them to hang out with me! they are incredibly awesome and such lovely parents, and i really love them both…well, all three of them! haha
